Belgium attempt to break a spectator record for handbal
l when they play France."We are optimistic to set a new spectators record for handball matches in Belgium with 4,200 fans in Liège," said the
federation's President, Piet Moons.
More than 3,000 tickets are already sold.
"We never had such an interest before, usually about 500 fans attended our international matches. But this is another
sign that handball is growing in Belgium," said left wing Damian Kedziora.
If statistics are anything to go by, then the chances for Belgium to defeat the current French world champions exist.
The only time to date that France played an EHF EURO qualifier in Belgium, they lost 21:20. However, it must be noted
that this game was played 21 years ago and that France won the return match 21:9 only two days later.
