After the conclusion of the group matches of the eight groups, an overall ranking of those teams ranked 3 rd in each group (a total of eight teams) will be established. This ranking will include only the results of the four matches of the third ranked team against the two teams ranked no. 1 and no. 2 in the group. The results of the two matches against the teams ranked no. 4 in the group will not be considered. The best 4 teams from this ranking of the third ranked teams will also qualify for the final tourn ament of the Men’s EHF EURO 2022 .
